Accup2.TIF (416208 bytes)ACCUpitch TrainerÔ Designed to help players improve their pitching skills and ball control. This baseball practice device electronically senses the precise location on a thrown pitch and then audibly calls out whether it is a strike or a ball. A series of electronic sensors built into the 55 inch high by 43 inch wide backstop detect the location of each pitch and determine whether it is within the strike zone. A horn speaker attached to a shock-resistant control unit instantly announces whether the pitch is a "strike" or a "ball". The control unit’s built-in electronic circuitry also keeps a running count of the pitches and calls the imaginary batter out after three strikes or to take a walk after four balls. It also announces "play ball", "batter up" and "next batter". Operates on one 9 volt battery. About $190.
