Saitek R100 PC Racing Wheel

Saitek Industries, Los Angeles, released a new PC Racing Wheel in the fall of 1999. For about $50, you can forget about trying to drive your race car games with the keyboard or mouse and grab onto a real steering wheel. This good looking wheel is a serious alternative to the high-priced wheels.

The R100 offers outstanding quality for an affordable price and is one of the most sophisticated and realistic wheels in its class. The easy to use desk clamp allows you to quickly attach the wheel to your computer desk. A brake and gas pedal unit is also included.

On the wheel are two fire buttons and gear shift paddles to easily control your favorite racing game.

"Good quality racing wheels are difficult to find with a small budget," said Nicholas Gibbons, chief operating officer of Saitek in the United States. "Once gamers get their hands on the R100, they will be amazed with the styling and the handling. We're using an advanced ball cam mechanism, rather than the cheap rubber bands used by our competitors," Gibbons said.
